We're Maureen and Gaby.

A two-person studio, Kenyan and Lebanese. We design and build websites, mobile apps, desktop apps and AI integrations for non-profits, businesses and startups in Kenya and beyond, and we stay with them after launch.

Why we started

We started Harakati Fikra together to build useful things, in Kenya and beyond: websites, apps and tools that keep working long after launch day.

Maureen is Kenyan and works from Kenya. Gaby is Lebanese and works from Lebanon. Wherever we are, the same two people answer your messages, design your screens and write your code. In Kenya, we're happy to meet in person.

The name

Harakati Fikra puts two Swahili words together. Fikra is a thought, an idea. Harakati is motion, action.

An idea should not remain only a thought. It should move into reality. That's the work we do.

In our logo, the round dot on the i of Harakati is the idea, and the square on the i of Fikra is what it becomes.

Our first act

We're giving ten WordPress hosting spaces to registered Kenyan non-profits, each free for five years.
